How to install Codex pets on Windows
Find the correct pets folder, extract your animation pack, and refresh the app when your new companion does not appear.

Start with the extracted folder
A ZIP is a transport file, not the installed pet. Extract it first. In a CodePets folder package, open the cp_… folder and check that pet.json and spritesheet.webp are directly inside it. An extra nested folder is a common reason a pet cannot be found.
Use the correct Windows location
Press Win + R and enter %USERPROFILE%\.codex. Open or create the pets folder, then copy the entire cp_… folder into it. If you configured CODEX_HOME, use the pets folder inside that location instead. Keep the JSON and WebP filenames unchanged.
Refresh the pet list
In our Windows test, reopening Mini & Pets settings made an installed character appear. If it still does not appear, completely quit the app, including its tray instance, and reopen it. Sign in if prompted. Select the new character in pet settings. Reinstalling the same files repeatedly usually does not fix a stale list.
Check before asking for help
Confirm the final path ends in pets/cp_…/pet.json. Keep your order number and note your app version and operating system. Contact support without sending passwords or recovery tokens. A browser animation preview does not prove that every desktop client supports the same interactions.
